Default Price for HK417?

Greeting all, the names JXZ,

I hope this is in the right thread.

Question: I have been looking all over and cannot find general price for the HK417. So in the end I do what I always do and go to a forum and ask someone who knows more on it.

Does anyone know what HK417 generally run for?

Thanks

-JXZ

HK416 is 223 HK417 is 308

Both are made in Europe and cannot be imported as a sporting firearm...LEO only on letterhead. Few float around in $ 1500 - 2000+ range 416's only.

Do not hold your breath to get one !

I too would like to know what that end price will be, because I love that rifle. I played with them at SHOT and it's one great unit.

That said - nothing in HK's aresenal is cheap, so I would be surprised if this weapon would fall into the "affordable" category for the average working man.

If anyone has any info, that would be much appreciated on this end as well.

JD

EDIT: I read on one of the HK forums that HK is going to produce civilian versions of both the 416 and 417 for sale here in the states. When HK didn't get the big government contract, they started looking for ways to recoup some of their loss from R & D. The source was another poster - so take it with a grain of salt....

Means that unless you are Law Enforcement that is told to buy such a weapon-- it's not going to happen.
