Well it didn't go the way we were hoping. Up here in Canada we were all rooting for you guys. We've currently got a Conservative government that's done a great job of repealing out long-gun registry and gotten us closer to having proper magazine capacities.

I hope the firearms freedom of the United States stays where it is. You're the example we push to emulate.

In the meantime, I'm trying to spend more time on the range shooting and less time worrying over politics with fellow shooters:

It's disturbing guys I know. My life basically revolves around politics so just hang in there and don't get discouraged, can't give up.

I was talking about the election today with a guy who summed it up perfectly.

He said " The run up to the election was like waiting for a diagnosis, and now that we know we have a terrible illness, we have to wait and see if it will kill us or just make us wish we were dead."

It isn't so much that Americans want socialism as it is very hard to out vote all the ones who stake their livelihood on continuing government entitlements. That 47% is pretty close to the way it is.

I was not surprised that obama won the election... I know a lot of people that don't have government entitlements that voted for him, but everyone I know on government entitlements did as well

I do also. Elections have become more of a team sport to many people. Only thing that matters is that the team wins. Who's running and what they stand for no longer matters.

Democrats seem worse about this but many Republicans do it also. I've known people who completely reversed themselves on some pretty basic belief issues, such as abortion, just to be in line with their party's platform.

I know plenty of ignorant people that vote for whoever is more popular, I actually care about our country and want to elect the best candidate
