Default New old guy with a question.

As stated this is my first post on this forum, and it seems like a good place to ask a question about a rifle that lead me here. I need a starting load for a 25 Rem. in a model 8 rem.. The books I have don't list this cart. at all. The 25 Rem. went out of production in the late 40's ( I think). I got this rifle in trade for a 96 Swede , knowing 0.0 about it. Research into ammo proved breathtaking . It does not bode well when you find only two sources of ammo, and find one is out of stock and the other back orders one of the two boxes you order. I THINK I've found a source 30 rem. brass, which can be necked down . The rifle is a hoot to shoot, and will shoot minute of milk jug at a hundred yards. If my wife gets a hold of it I'm going to need more ammo. The dies got here yesterday.

Give us some pics!! Just read an article on Hamer in American Rifleman. Looks like a super interesting rifle. The .30 Remington is still produced isn't it? I think the R-25 comes chambered in that one.
