the navy SPR or Mark 12

the Navy issued SUR, the Mark12 or SPR in .223/5.56mm with an 18" barrel...

searched for some info and experienced opinions on this rifle and couldn't find any posts on it here...seems like it would be a fun build project but is it really that different from any other AR fitted with an 18" barrel?
