Good stuff Joe.
Saturday morning I worked on the Garand and my Inland M1 carbine. I really scrubbed out the barrel on the Garand and changed out the recoil spring for a Wolff extra power spring.
Then I dissassembled the carbine and soaked the receiver in kerosene. It still had a bunch of cosmoline on it and the rear sight was just crusty with it. Then yesterday I scrubbed it up, lubed and reassembled it. I also replaced the recoil spring with a Wolff spring.
I enjoy doing stuff like that and it expands my skills and knowledge level.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams
