m1 garand ammo
Ok so since I have owned my m1 garand I have been able to get surplus ammo, but now theres none around here for me to get, so what do you suggest, is there ammo specificly made for the m1 or what kind of pressure should I look for in standard commercial 30-06? I dont want to damge this rifle and I have made the mistake once before with firing standard 30-06, nothing happend but I dont want to chance it again.

the m1 garand was designed to fire a 150grn bullet approx. 2700fps. short of reloading your own (best option) there is sometimes cmp sales and various ammo websites that surplus 30-06 appears from time to time. right now there is some coming out of greece.
150grn bullets off the shelf should be just fine. |

Federal has American Eagle in an M2 equivalent.
Or you could buy a Schuster adjustable gas plug and shoot factory .30-06. Is the CMP out of the Greek HXP M2 ball? |
I went to the cmp web site after c3 suggested it , they have them in stock, but I never bought anything from them, is there anything I need to do first? Also about this gas plug is it easy to setup and maintain? My m1 is my favorite rifle and would hate to mess it up.:o Also thanks for the heads up on the federal ammo, I checekd midway and there out of stock.
