looks like the M1's made it back.
 

The CMP arms were handled thru the NRA for years. The retired military arms were provided for civilian marksmanship programs. We bought M1 Carbs for $15 bucks and 1911 Pistols foe $17 dollars. Back in the day Krags sold for $1.50. The Antigun Democrats took the CMP program away from the NRA. It was turned over to insiders in Washington. Now it is just an inside political favor gun marketing racket. Too bad.:(

Yeah. I'm not a fan of the whole setup but the link was included in the email I got informing me that the M1's we have been waiting on made it home. Just figured I wasn't the only one watching and waiting.

There is still a massive stockpile of Garands overseas that may be coming into the USA - but not via the CMP, but rather commercial imports.

Which is good for folks who can't jump thru CMP hoops, they will simply pay a bit more.

Meanwhile, if you are like those lucky AK-74 mag and 5.45x39 ammo hoarders with the freedoms of money and zero household responsibilities - snag as many Garands and 30.06 ammo as the CMP allows. And re-sell this at a nice profit. Seen that at more than a few gunshows... CMP has become a private wholesale house.

Too bad. I have wanted a Garand "Farmall" IHC for some time. I have a number of WW II and later Korean War H&Rs. These IHCs were nice rifles made in Evansville, Indiana.:D

I would have jumped all over that one buddy. I'm a fan of any h&r gun. Don't care if its just a wall hanger.

I have a DCM M-1 made by H&R. It's been rebarrelled to 7.62X51, and given the full match tretment.

One of my all time favorite rifles.:)

I didn't know any better then. One more reason I'm on this forum now.
