Any info on the sub 2000 like what's the best caliber to get it in and how it handles?

It's a fun gun. Basically just a pistol with a stock on it. I'd go with 9mm for cheaper plinking (if you can get ammo) and .40 would be my overall preferred choice.

I'm looking for one of these in a 9mm, what's the going price for these now.

Yeah I checked them out but that's more than I want to shell out for sub caliber riffle. I basically was looking to get something for the wife to have to compliment my AR. I have seen a. 22 Cal calico for $600 that I was eyeing.

Look at the S&W M&P 15-22 if you are looking at 22lr. Same ergonomics as an AR. Even comes apart the same way.
You only get about 150 fps boost in a 9 or 40.

I second this. The M&P is a great gun.

Especially the M&P15-22 MOE version. Good bargain for $500 (2010 price I paid).

My choice for a plinker would be the S&W. I bought one several years ago ($425) and love it. The only problem you may have is finding one and getting it for a decent price. Like everything else "black", they have disappeared from the shelves and jumped up in price since the Newtown shooting. I've seen a few on the web selling for $600. You could get them for $400-$450 a few months ago and they where sold at almost all gun shops and sporting goods stores.
