Default Just picked up a m1 tanker

Just picked it up. Had my local gun smith look at it before I bought it. He said it was not a welded back up garand. So I had to have it. It's in .308, can wait to shoot it. I got to order a adjustable gas plug first though.

Who made it? The U.S. Military never issued an M1 Tanker.

Tanker was more of gimmick. As far as I know there were only two made during ww2 for testing. One I believe is in a museum and the other was returned to original configuration.

Congratulations! You have a rare and well made rifle. But...
