Nothing at the moment. The $2,500 limit you mentioned will get you about half the gun you could have bought for that same price two weeks ago and probably even less in two more weeks! Sadly, the M&P 15 Sport I purchased the day before the Newtown shootings for $600 will probably be in that $2,500 range by the end of the month.

Probably one of the Sig 551's. They more resemble the original 550's and that is one sweet shooting rifle.

U can still get mini14 from Ruger at factory prices user 1000$ find an authorized top notch Ruger dealer they should have any Ruger in stock, and not at a gouged price, almost grabbed one a few weeks ago

I prefer my Pre Ban Colt AR-15s an SP-1 and a SP-II. I still shoot the old Preban AK. The AK is not my choice but I just cannot give it up.

I'd start with a stag arms 3L left-hand rifle, add back-up sights, a red dot, a few extra mags, and the rest in ammo.

This is my Sonics SAR-15 chambered in 5.56 NATO. I tried .223 though it and it ran just fine. I bought it in early November for $1050. I also got 10 more magazines for it (came with one).
