Default Idk what to do

I've been tirelessly searching for reliable ak-47's but to no avail. I was going to get an ar-15 but I read Ak's can withstand much more so I decided to go with that. Can anyone please help me. I want an ak that'll last a long time that I don't have to modify. Something simple, yet fun, known for its reliability.

If you want an AR, get an AR.

Probably the roughest treatment any civilian will give a rifle is in 3 gun competitions. AR's dominate in that field.

I second his statement. Also if you plan on hitting anything consistently at better than 75-100 yards, then get an AR. My brother had an AK and the word "accuracy" should not ever be used in the same sentence with AK47 unless you include the words "piss poor" directly in front of it. Now if you plan on heading out and just randomly blasting off rounds then I'm sure an AK47 would be fine, but if you want your shouts to count get an AR. You would not regret it.

I found a bushmaster carbon 15 with red dot for about 800 bucks. Is that good or crap?

I wouldnt give over $600 for a carbon 15, but with the market the way it is, thats not a terrible price.

Id save my money and get a good one when the market settles down.

There's also a windham for less that a thousand. About 950-999

Not crazy about the Carbon 15. I would recommend you look into building your own. There's a lot of great info in the stickies in the AR forum.

Oh.... Didn't notice that......
I have a couple of SAIGAs and a carbon 15. I gotta say, the AR is far more accurate. Lighter, too.
