Default hi-point 4595 carbine, reviews?

Well, it's my first purchase with plans on plenty more in the future. My question is are there any other owners of this particular carbine? I have totally reworked everything on mine and will include pictures. Just want to compare notes I guess.

It is a great little carbine. I have the 9mm version. Mine is Set up similar to yours with a red dot, a flashlight, a vert grip, and a 1 point sling.

Pros: low cost, accurate (0 to 120 yards on a man size target) , modular, reliable, durable, AMAZING WARRANTY AND SERVICE, i might be missing something

Cons: low mag capacity, ridiculously wide grip (i hate that), heavy

I have the Hi Point 4595TS and been shooting it for the past four years. I usually shoot TulAmmo, and they feed through really well. I have it scoped with a CenterPoint 4-16x40mm AO, and have bipod, sling, forward grip, flashlight, and compensator. I also added a 1-inch extended butt pad on the stock to assist in scope eye relief. The carbine is one great shooter, and you should enjoy shooting yours.

I have the 9mm. Only had one problem with it so far.. The last time I went shootin I got some winchester bulk 100 round ammo and it wouldnt hit the primer hard enuff to fire the round every time, but im not sure if it was the ammo or because I've never torn it down and cleaned it and its finally dirty enuff to mess up. I think im about up to 2000 rounds with nothing more then a bore snake.
Other then that there great.
If you get a fore grip get the one hi point makes for it cuz you get another multi tool in the handle.

So I had a few failure to feed when I had first purchased it, but after tearing it down I polished the feed ramp and the rest of the frame. That made a big difference. Also the journal for the firing pin was out of round so I had that lapped and polished and flash chromed the firing pin to make up the difference in size. Next was to file down the lips on the mags and then I chromed them as well. That was also a huge improvement. Now I am going to chrome inside the barrel, I hope this will allow me to use 230 grain ammo as of right now it does not work well in these hi-point due to the length of the barrel.

I also need to say I work in a chrome shop, and it's not the same as nickel, chrome actually reduces friction and won't flake off like nickel does, and is not shiny unless you want it that way

Looks nice. How did you lap the journal for the firing pin ? I think mine is sticking and I could just make a new pin to take up the slack

I work in a chrome shop, and we do gauge work and have a lapping dept., and I just did a quick flash chrome on the pin. Should you want it done just let me know. I am starting a customizing business out of the chrome shop and will be up and running in a month or to just need to file all the paperwork and get all the ducks in a row. The shop I work for originated chrome on guns and in them as well.
