It will be somewhere in the range of 5x, a little bit of distance but nothing crazy as I intend to get a bolt action for real long distance down the road. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look, have heard a lot of good about leupolds but they seem to be quite pricey. I also already have high rise mounts, just need the scope.

As for the guys with scopes, how do you like them?

So here is what I went with, it's a Scorpion Armaments tactical scope with laser. I don't know much about the brand and haven't shot with it yet, but so far out of the box I really like it and it looks great on the gun. Also the optics seem to be clear, for what I paid I can't complain.

My dad also gave me a single point sling for my birthday, seemed very fitting for this gun.

Never heard of those scopes. Hopefully it works out well for you.

The sling should be moved to the rear. So your rifle points down if you have to go hands free. If you let go of the rifle with it attached up front, the muzzle will possibly be pointing at you.

Yeh I hadn't either but it had good reviews. As for the sling I unfortunately don't have a way to mount it in the rear currently. I hold it in a way though that prevents it from pointing at me

Check this sight out. Very good and durable sight for the money. Runs for 1000 hours on an AAA battery and has 4 different reticles that stay zeroed while switching between the different reticles.
