FAL L1A1 (Enfield)

I know someone who is selling one. I know nothing about rifles.

It is a British L1A1 version of a FAL made by Enfield. Comes with 3 mags, scope, hard case and 200 rounds of Israeli surplus .308 ammo for $650.

Is it a good deal? What should I be looking for?

Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'm used to overinflated prices in Kalifornia, but that sounds really good if it's in nice shape.

Got any pictures?

No, I don't. That would help a lot, wouldn't it. I'll see if I can get him to send me some.

Find out whose receiver it is built on. And see if you can test fire it first.

But if it works, for $650, I'd buy it.

Make sure it does not have "Century" stamped on it. They are making L1A1 pattern rifles. Trying to pass a Century made FAL as an Enfield made L1A1 should be a criminal offense.

Here it is. Looks good, yes?

This from the seller...

Quote:

This is all one British L1A1 but the lower is made by Atlantic Arms (for BATF reason.... remove full auto) and the upper is a custom fitted DPMS flat top upper. The lower and every thing else are all original.

The upper is a replacement for sight mounting.... and DPMS is the best.
It does not have a built in Bipod like a Imbel from Brazil but it's one of the most combat proven versions of the FAL (the Brit guns) used in Falklands.
Just from what he says and what you all say, I think this is a very good deal. Now I just need to arrange a meeting to shoot it.

Go for it.
