Is this a decent upper?

Is this a decent upper? My birthday is coming up soon and I was going to ask my dad to get me this upper.

If I get a bolt and charging handle, which one should I get?

Is this charging handle sufficent?

Thanks guys!

The upper seems to be suspiciosly inexpensive. Is a 1:9 what you want?
In my experience the charging handle os less impprtant than the latch itself. (Standard kinda sucks, easily replaced)
The bolt should be sufficient.

Is 1:9 bad?

I have a DS upper 1:9 non chrome lined. With a standard mil spec bolt with semi auto carrier. 16". No issues at all. ZERO rapid fire or slow, brass case and steel .223 or 5.56.

Accurate as well. Shoots better than I can. Very happy with my purchase. Its tight on my RRA lower. They machine their own uppers, t marked as well. Finish is nice. I can take pics later if you want.

I would buy again in a heart beat.

Hope these help ya. I love this thing.

Good for someone on a budget. They build some of the best FALs in the game.

Quite welcome. Thanks and good luck bub.

Personally... I would not buy a barrel that was not chrome lined.

That statement indicates that I've never owned one so my distrust is not based on personal experience... Just decades of 2nd hand stories of poor reliability under adverse conditions.

All that said, it's probably just fine for a range gun given religious maintenance.

Good luck,

Tack

As much as I get to shoot its a non issue for me.
