My buddy has the Browning, it was his late father's gun, they haven't had any trouble with it. I think it looks better than the R1.

I have the Browning BAR in .338 WinMag.

It's completely reliable, as accurate as my bolt actions, ergonomic.......

I don't have a Benelli R1, but after owning Benelli shotguns, I would trust anything they make, sight unseen.

I went with Benelli the ComForTec recoil system works great 300wm is a bad ass round fun to shoot I have maybe 25 rounds thru her so far no problems, I just like the Benelli R1 look real snazy kinda like an Italian sports car

I am leaning towards the R1. They make big claims on reduced recoil, and my Benelli shotgun is damn nice.

Any gas gun will have reduced recoil.

My Browning .338 WinMag, with 250 gr loads, kicks less than my bolt action .30-06 with 150 gr loads.

I decided on the Bar Safari with the steel receiver in 300 WinMag. I would have gone with the R1 or the BAR with the aluminum receivers but I thought the 300 would be better as a steel 8.3 lb rifle. I need to find the lightest scope made and I don't care what it cost. I just hope the recoil is decent being a gas operated and 8.3 lbs.

Does anyone know of a ten round magazine for this gun ???

My friend, that combo will not kick you as bad as a bolt action .308 or .270.

The .300 WinMag deserves a good 2-10 or 3-9 scope. Take a look at

Trijico Tr-20
Nikon Monarch 2.5-10X42
Leupold 3-9X50 VX-R.
