Some people buy some guns just for the novelty of it. If a Thompson came along at the right price I might consider it. Not every gun has to be 100% practical. Some we just want for the sake of having.
Personally, I really want to get into collecting historical rifles, so in that regard I could personally justify having a Thompson, but like I said at the right price.
