A Brownells or MidwayUSA catalog. Lol.

But really though ... The shooters bible has an AR15 book. I've flipped through it a couple times and it's got a lot of good stuff in it. Here's some link-age.

Default AR book

The AR15 platform is a very modular system. With a few tools and a little knowledge theres not much you can't do to one by swapping out parts. Before I put together my first lower receiver I bought the book "The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide" by Walt Kuleck with Clint McKee. It discribes pretty much every thing you need to know to disassemble and assemble an AR. Also Brownells has a lot of really good videos on line you can watch for free at http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11004/learn/ and more good stuff at http://www.ar15.com/

this will give you all the proper specs you need to build an ar15 properly and to spec.

http://www.cpi-va.us/docs/M16Manual.pdf

just ignore the bits on the full auto/3 round burst. its the manual i use and gives directions for the creation of a few simple tools to make some of the tasks easier

The publisher of the gun assembly / disassembly app is noble-empire.com

It is really cool. You can go into X-ray mode and see the inner workings in action, and it makes memorizing assembly/disassembly a lot easier.

You get a few guns free, others are 99 cents.

I have it and it works great, it's a great reference to learning how to disassemble certain guns

I'm not sure how involved you want to get with your weapon or if you're referring to manuals providing gunsmithing information specific to the AR-15 platform, but I think the following manual is a good read for all owners:

http://www.bhigear.com/ar15-handbook-pannone-lawrence.aspx

There are many other good ones out there and this is just an example.

Bowfisher,

The books by Patrick Sweeney are about the best I have ever seen. I have a collection of most of them.
Pat Sweeney is very knowledgable when it comes to the AR platform.
