I think I paid between 2500 and 2600 for my SCAR 17.

.308 battle rifles are expensive.

A LaRue OBR is over 3K.

A KAC SR-25 is over 5K.

I'm not sure what a LWRC costs, but I know they aren't cheap.

The Colt 901 and Sig 716 are around the same price. Both use SR-25 pattern magazines, which means you can run PMAG's in them.

You have to purchase an adapter to use PMAG's in a SCAR.

A DSA FAL is probably the cheapest option, although the higher end models are more expensive.

You are welcome. What I posted is not BS. Of the 6 762 platforms I own (Devine TX NM M1A, HK SR9TC, LMT MWS, DPMS SASS, Armalite AR 10A4 and the SIG 716) the SIG 716 FDE is my favorite. I own an FN FDE SCAR 16S I it is my least favorite of my 556 platforms. I hate the creepy, gritty trigger. One would think for what they charge they could supply a trigger that is not so gritty and with so much creep. One 17H that I have shot have the same type trigger. Another 1 I shot had a Giselle which is a great trigger.

If you have the means. Get a Scar and a LaRue OBR.

I like my 716 just fine. Never had a problem. It will eat Brown or Silver Bear junky ammo with no problems. I did change out the trigger and hammer though.

The trigger pull is a bit heavy but crisp. Better than the trigger on my LMT MWS and shoots just as well and several hundred $$$ cheaper. I have a Nightforce NXS 5.5-20X50 on both rifles with ZS & HST.
I wasn't bad mouthing the rifle, as I said in my post after, I liked it a lot. It had been back to Sig twice to correct it. I most likely got a bad one, which happens. If you're happy with your 716 I'm happy for you! I was just tired of leaving the range aggravated and stressed out over it. Supposed to be relaxing and stress relieving, ya know?

I know what you mean. I had an HK SR9TC that I went through hell trying to get it to shoot decent groups. I was about to give up when I changed from the A.R.M.S. claw mount to the MFI low profile mount and the groups shrank to 1 MOA, strange.

LWRC REPR is pretty bad @$$. An M1A with a pistol grip stock would work just as well.
