I saw one at a gun show not too long ago ... The guy must have thought he had something because he wanted a damn arm and a leg for it. I don't even bother going to gun shows anymore.
They discontinued them awhile back. Why sell a 600$ rifle when everybody was shelling out 800+ for an AR. In Canada they are unrestricted so are popular as an alternative to a Sig arms Black "550" ie: 1200-1800 vs 2400-3000 for the Sig. We can only take AR15s to the range so no PD hunting, or with a 6.8/6.5/m43 deer hunting
Yeah, I too had a Sterling made AR180 back in the 80s---nice rifle, but the trigger pull was something like 15+ lbs---still, a reliable, accurate, rifle. The "new" AR180 was released just as the AR15 was coming on strong---couldn't take the competition and failed in the marketplace---I don't think there were that many made...
Two reasons.
1. They are out of production with ArmaLite talking about eventually producing an updated version.
2. The AR180Bs are really good rifles and current owners aren't parting with them.
I've had one for years and it has been thoroughly troublefree and a lot of fun to shoot.
