People are going to look for markings stamped on the rifle.

Let's take a recent purchase of mine as an example.

Regardless of what the salesman said, the rifle was

stamped with the Colt LOGO. Was marked by caliber.

throughout the rifle were stamps and markings

providing clues as to what it actually is.

Sooner or later, you'll get burned, if you

"take somebody's word for it".

It should be clearly stamped "Galil"

"IMI", or have other obvious Israeli markings,

which will verify it's value.

"CAI" is just the imprimatur of a large arms importer,

and Century Arms brings in a lot of AKMs.

At the heart of the matter, Israeli markings-2200-to-3200$+.

IF it's just a CAI AKM, you are holding a @ 750$ Bubba job.

And if it does have anything to do with Century Arms, its known to have severe jamming issues. Before all the hub bub with guns these days, a Century Arms Galil was selling for about 650.

A Century Golani is what you have there. Not a dime more than $650. Century employs monkeys to assemble their guns.

I must have gotten lucky... My Century AKM is AK reliable and holds 2 MOA groups which is certainly in spec for any AK.

I though the beauty of Kalashnikov's rifle WAS the fact that it could be broken down and reassembled by monkeys... IE "conscripts"...?

I can't find any evidence that Century Arms International (CAI) ever imported actual IMI Galils. All references are to Golani copies and there are some serious jamming and brass damage associated with some of these.

I would put a magazine or two through this before selling it to determine if it's one of the problem guns or not. It's never good to have someone mad at you over a transaction.

The Century Golani was made here using a new receiver and imported parts. Yes the AK series is just about idiot proof, but there are some world class idiots out there.
