I love my SKSs. One's a Norinco. But how did they pare it down to

5-shots? Standard internal mags for SKSs are 10 rounds.

IMO, be sure that's the price shipped.

So, OP, you got a lot of zombies in your area??

I have a 10 and a 20 shot fixed mag for my Norinco SKS. Takes about 15 seconds for me to change them out.

I suppose that if you live in an area legally limiting mag capacity to 5 shots, it would be very easy for a supplier to block off a 10 rounder to 5.
BTW, Norinco offered fixed 20 and 30 round magazines at one time. I'l betcha anyone who wanted one could find it on gunbroker or at a large gunshow.

You can also get an AK mag adapter for the SKS, but everyone I know that tried them had lotsa trouble with them.

As much as I love hi-cap mags, I've always been of the philosophy that if you don't have time to reload from a stripper clip after firing 10 rounds, you've got bigger troubles than mag capacity!

Thank you. My philosophy has been the 10-round mag doesn't jam,

and it doesn't get snagged on stuff, either.

If you're worried about sending rounds down range, how much time is a

feed jam going to cost you? Better hope the answer's not "just enough

to get you killed"...

Defaultin a word- YES !

they are anything but finicky and extremely simple to field strip. I do recommend a Williams peep sight for it. At fifty yards it will help you go from hitting the paper to hitting one of the targets on the paper. Superb hog killer. Cheap ammo, easy shooting and tons of mods.

I've heard great things about the SKS. In Canada the mags are required to be pinned to 5 rounds, so i figure that's just the issue that you're going to have to deal with as well. The original magazine is 10 rounds, but they weld a metal bit in the bottom of the mag so that you can't fit more ammo in.

If you do get one, stay away from the AK mag conversions, I've heard of nothing but trouble from those things. The high-cap internal ones I've heard are a bit iffy - but are usually ok, although I guess it won't be an issue for you due to your laws.

For the price, you can't go wrong with an SKS. As far as zombies are concerned... just don't be on the run, 5 shots go quick!

If you are not limited by round count Tapco make a great 20 round mag. It is removable.
