Speed loading?

I'm new to blackpowder. I've hunted once with a Thompson, but I was wondering. I'd like to get into speed loading. Seeing how many shots I can get off a minute. Seems like a fun hobby with goals.
Does anyone have any recommendations on procedures/ equipment. Also, what rifles are more conducive to fast reloading?
Any help is appreciated.
:)

Be careful speed loading a muzzleloader if there is a ember or spark left in the barrel & you pour in your powder or drop in the pellets the gun could fire with out having any primer on it.

From a cold bore, flash to bang... How much time could I realistically expect?

I don't see the fun or upside to this. Get a Brown Bess musket if u have to, enlarge the vent a tad, pour in a light charge of 3F, drop in a loose ball without paper, slam the butt on the ground, prime (if the pan didn't get enough 3F to touch off), cross your fingers, say a prayer, and shoot. Takes seconds...

I was thinking more like a Thompson center fire, how quick could I take it off the shelf and load it?...

My T/C Omega Z5 loads much faster than my Traditions in-line.
If I didn't stop to swab the barrel to prevent a lingering spark I think I could reload my Omega in about 45 to 50 sec.

A flare in the bore is very rare. Some ranges require that you run a damp patch down the bore before loading a muzzle loader. All match rules call for powder to be poured from a charger never a horn or flask. Never place your head or hands over the bore when charging with BP. When using a charger and the bore flares it will only blow smoke and flame no explosion.
You can buy speed loader tubes or make paper Ctgs. I recomend placing your patch ball and powder carefully in your bag. Practice loading from your bag and horn.
