Single Shot Pistol
Several years ago they sold these single shot black powder pistol kits. I have had a hella time finding them again. I really want to build one again. If anyone has any clue where to find them let me know. The one I built 20 years ago was so much fun that I want to build a couple of them with my boys now.
Dixie Gun Works has some--but be prepared for some sticker shock. Looks
like they start at $250 or so.
I remember those old kits. Single shot 45 pistol kit for maybe $50. Spanish
barrels, cheap lock, blond wood about as hard as granite. About 95%
inletted. Excellent learning tool. You could be all thumbs, and still put
something together that would shoot. If you screwed up it might be
ugly, but usually salvageable. CVA (Connecticut Valley Arms) comes to
mind as a major kit gun player at the time.
I have a CVA pistol, assembled that I will sell. Contact me by p.m.
