Anyone have any experiences ( good or bad ) using the Powerbelt line of ammo?? Especially in the 245 gr. weight for inlines?? I know they shoot great on paper but have not had the chance to shoot a deer yet with them. Thanks, Duker.

They shoot great on paper and are easy to load, BUT don't always expand like they should. I tried them and almost lost 1 doe because it didn't expand. That was enough for me.

I used 295 grain Powerbelt aerotips with 2X50 triple seven pellets in my 50 cal.
I have taken 7 deer with this combo and none of the deer went further than 50 yards with (5 lung shots and two frontal) which I think is about right for lung shots where the deer doesn't know it's dead yet.
Most of my shots have been within 75 yards. Only one pass through.
The combination is easy to load, repeat accurately for second shot, if needed.
Expensive, and for my ranges they group in a 1 1/2 group in 50 yards.
I would think that loose powder and other bullets may give better results but their performance is fine for my hunting

Yep, the main secret is that to many people want to overpower the projectile. They think just because the gun says magnum, they need to use the maximum charge. Usually 80-90gr of BP will do just fine. If you try to push it with the magnum loads, it will blow apart. I'm getting 3/4" at 50yrds with 90 gr Goex FFFg and both the 295 gr PB and the 270 gr Platinums. Shot 1 hog with the 295 and it dropped where it was standing.
