Default Please help identify, black powder pistol.

Hi Guys, I have a pistol that needs some identifying. It belongs to a friend of mine who has no idea what it is. We do know that it is a break barrel black powder pistol. Brass frame with steel barrel and wood grips. It is .50 cal. It says ďmade in ItalyĒ on one side of the barrel. And there are marking on the other side of the barrel. (see pics). Since itís made in Italy, Iím assuming that this is either an Uberti or a Pietta replica pistol. Any info on this pistol would be greatly appreciated!

I don't believe I have ever seen one before. Could be a piece of a revolver that someone put a BP barrel on. Hawg is very sharp on this BP stuff. I expect he will be here shortly.
Just walking on the edge of of my grave.

Well, made in 1978 (AD in square) and been proofed at the two Italian proof houses for BP. The maker's mark should be the double diamond, and I do not know that one F. LLI Pietta uses a diamond, with FAP in the diamond. Uberti is a U. Pedersoli a DP.
What we have here is... failure- to communicate.
