Default Pietta 1858 new army buffalo question

I have a 1858 new army buffalo and I believe that I have a problem with the rear sight. The two screws that hold the rear sight of the gun are at an angle, when in the frame of the gun. The two screws should be vertical to the gun frame, right?

ya the two mounting screws should be straight.
sounds like someone cross threaded the screws when installing or trying to adjust the rear sight.
