nipple wrench
Does anyone know where to buy a nipple wrench that will fit an original 1849 Colt .31 cal bp revolver I've got it functioning again but cant find a wrench to take out the old nipples. I went to Dixie's website but apparently they are not the same company since being sold. I have a machinist that will make one but $$$ are tight. Thanks

You could try these folks, and if it isn't listed, call them. - The Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium -

nipple wrench
Dunerunner, Thanks for the tip. I calles them since they were in Ore. and were still open but the lady I spoke to said they don't have anything like that.
I've just about given up and I'll just get the machinist to make me one. That ought to be cheap! I read the comments about Dixie's wrenches since Val Forgett sold and they must be getting them from China on lowest bid basis 'cause every one says they are junk.
Again thanks.

Ta- Stocks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me.

Of course you did.
And, along those lines, I would expect Suprdave to come along at any time and tell us about HIS experiences with nipple wrenches.
