Anyone have info on the new federal muzzleloading 270 gr. bullet.

That bullet has been out for awhile. At $25 for 15 of those bullets i'll just pass. Other bullets that cost much less are just as accurate and effective on game.

I think I'd start looking for bullet casting dies, Lyman makes molds for many BP calibers.

As does LEE and they cast great bullets. You can have a butt load in an hour with a double mold.

Generally for black powder, pure lead.

Sorry it took awhile to get back, I use pure lead when casting round balls or conicals that will be used in a revolver. Pretty much anything else will work with wheel weights or pure lead mixed with a little tin (except hollow base bullets). Wheel weights are free albeit dirty and nasty to work with.
