i was told this gun is from the mid 1800s but i cant seem to find anything that resemble itAttachment 3090

Yeah, Cane carried it during the Rev War.

All kidding aside, that is a beautiful piece. Somebody on here will be able to ID it. Welcome aboard!

Can't tell for sure from pics- but do a Google image search for Enfield Musket. most of those and the Springfield muskets date from early 1860s.

Can you post ANY markings that are on the weapon?

the only markings i can get a pi of are on the but plate in the pic above. will try the info you guys gave so ar but any other help will b welcomed.

i really am grateful for the help guys. it is the lorenz. now i am also looking for an average price of one in fair shape because it will be for sale.

Realistically you're looking at the 600-700 range. You might put it on one of the online auctions and get a tad more. There's one on gunbroker now with a startup bid of 850 that started on the 1st with two days left and no bids.
