lost my hunting rifle need a new one
 

HELP! i just lost my hunting rifle. A couple of weeks ago someone broke into my house and stole all my guns. including my very rare jim bean rifle i use to hunt with. and unfortunatley they found the gun in the bottom of the river. that broke my heart when they brought that to me. that gun was a one of a kind. hand forged and hand made. Im a gun historian and after 45 years that is the only over under hand made flintlock rifle I have ever seen. well know i need a knew one and I was thinking of going a little more modern. what i mean by that is a replica that uses caps not flints. im in the pacific northwest and i was thinking somthing short can any one help.

is there no chance of restoring your old rifle?

god do i wish. i took to my good freind who restores old guns. his exact words were " I can do it if I replace 98 percent of the rifle you can keep the patch box though" so in other words not rely. the problem was it had sat in the river for long enogh all the wood swelled and cracked, and all the iron which is pretty much all the metal components had rusted.

I hope you had insurance. If not join the NRA so you have some. Check through these places I'm sure you can find something more than adequate.

Sorry to hear this. My guns were stolen years ago also. It took me years to rebuild my collection

the lucky thing was that they found the rest at a pawn shop. i have some very rare guns. just to name afew, french apache pistol, certerfied hatfeild mcoy rifle, and a duck gun. but thanks guys. Ill let you know what I find. i was hoping maybe some one out there made over under muzzleloaders but im not finding anything.
