Default Lil help please? Anybody know anything about this odd BP pistol?

My nephew has asked me to help him find out more about this decorated sidelock pistol. He & his wife may sell it to help finance a move back to MS. They don't have a history on it.

All i could tell him was that it looked cap-fired. It also makes me think middle eastern, maybe Turkish for some reason. Any help will be appreciated.

I wonder if it was built to be a wall hanger with all that decoration. I also can't see any rear sight.

Barrel marking.

Rear sight is in this pic.

My guess and that's just a guess is it's Mediterranean. It could be North African. It's the wrong style to be Turkish or Arabian. Many of those old guns were very ornate with Gold and Silver inlays. This one appears to have been converted from flint as the lockplate is wrong for a percussion gun. It appears to have had a new plate fitted instead of the lock itself being converted. You can see where the metal doesn't fully fit the inlet.

I got to hold this piece today. The hammer & trigger function, but half-cocked is not a safety position. The nipple looks real but odd. Then i look down the barrel; the walls of that barrel are seriously thin and the bore is definately aged and full of corrosion/rust/wth. It looks like it may have been a shooter that didn't get cleaned when put away, a loooong time ago. I like the feel of the wood, very dense. The little ramrod is steel, but seems decorative though removable.

I may shoot a cap with it, left-handed and heavy gloved. It is pretty, though.

The stock looks like a Belgium or French target pistol.... the brass work on the
iron parts look to be from Pakistan or India, quality is better than what would come out of Turkey or the middle east.... there are people who collect this sort
of stuff but it is not high value.
