Since you are in the Black powder section I will also note that in the BP world, Bullet weights are in grains but POWDER IS IN VOLUME!
This a is very important distinction. Black powder charges are measured in volumetric measure and not on a scale. Loading BP by weight could lead to unfortunate consequences.

If your interested, 1 gn. is the average weight of 1 grain of wheat. I you weight out 1 lb. of wheat and could the grains there should be 7,000 of them. If you don`t have anything to do give it a try and let me know how close it works out.
