Default flintlock pistol, buck and ball or buckshot load?

is it possible to shoot a buck and ball or buckshot load through a flintlock pistol? would it have been effective? since it wouldn't have the velocity or energy it would have coming from a musket.
have they ever used this load in combat? or is this not a good idea?
your opinions?

I wouldn't try it from a rifled pistol but if you have a smoothie then why the Hell not?

where have you ever seen a rifled flintlock pistol? I've only ever seen reproductions with smoothbores, like a super short musket barrel.

They're not uncommon on kit guns. You see it a lot more on caplocks though.

That's a good site to know about if your looking for harder to find reproductions.

My single shot, caplock pistol from Traditions is rifled but slowtwist, iirc.

Yeah it doesn't take much twist to stabilize a round ball. Anything with more than 1:48 can actually be too much and you should switch to more modern type projectiles like maxi balls.
