Is it illegal to conceal a black powder pistol in Texas?

Are the laws different between regular guns and black powder guns for this?

Also, are there any tips to carring a concealed black powder pistol?

Concealed is concealed, and a weapon is that. Blackpowder or not, you are carrying a firearm. You did not say if it was cartridge or caps but it doesn't matter.

Tips for concealed... if it is cap, then make sure to seal the chambers, unload it by firing at least weekly, and keep the powder and cap dry.
