Default colt mistake 44cal.army with navy engravings

i have a colt 44 cal. army but the cylinder is engraved with sail ships all serial #s match and cannot find any info any help thanks

That would only be odd if it was on a round barrel (1860). If it's on an octagon barrel (1851), then not so much.

it is a round barrel serial # 9601

The Naval scene is correct for the 1860. It was almost a Colt trademark.
