Buying A Black Powder "Shooter" Pistol
I've started to collect some Colt Blackpowder pistols. Watching the Ruger Army tests on this site has got me thinking I want to get something to shoot. I had a Ruger Army years ago and hardly shot it but think it's time to do it again. The question is should I get another Ruger or get one of the Colt copies. It looks like the Rugers are bringing a hefty price and I think I can get a colt copy for a bit more than half the price. I know the Ruger is a stronger gun and stainless may be a lot easier to clean. How much will I shoot it? Don't know. Just curious about your thoughts.

I really enjoy my lil Pietta reproduction of a 1858 Remington cap-n-ball pistol, but i don't shoot it as often as the .22 or the SKS. The Pietta people make a stainless version, i bleve. ing-black-powder-pistols-revolvers%2F_%2FN-1100201%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104503680%3FWTz_l%3DDirectLoad%253Bca t104792580%253Bcat104701680&WTz_l=DirectLoad%3Bcat 104792580%3Bcat104701680%3Bcat104503680 Not cheap, but no ROA either.

Pietta or uberti 1858 Remington in my opinion are a good choice for someone just getting into black powder pistols.
