i seen an episode on mythbusters about bullets fired into the air. what i remember was that if the muzzle of the gun your firing into the air, isnt exactly 90 deg. straight up,the bullet keeps its spin & will kill! but if the bullet is just free falling,it want kill, just hurt like hell.i think they had said the bullet dead falling to earth was like around 60mph?

The actual speed was around 120 or 150 mph terminal velocity or something like that, but I was not impressed with their tests using nothing but 9mm target ammo(115gr),I actually wrote to them in like 2006 and asked why didn't they use something heavier but never got a response.I will guess and jump to say that at terminal velocity of those 9mm would produce somewhere in the vacinity of 15 ft lbs energy coming down,as where a very common 12 gauge slug is 4x's heavier, and 60ft lbs of energy will kill ya.I guess to me I don't know if I would think an angle or a straight fall will change terminal velocity,it's still falling from enough height either way to achieve terminal velocity.
