Worth about 50 years in Leavenworth. Contact the authorities, explain your understanding of how it came into his possession, and hope for the best. The license plate might be an issue.

Congratulations. You are in possession of a destructive device (that is the legal term) that is not registered to you under the 1934 Gun Control Act. Penalty begins at 10 years in a Federal prison, and a fine of $250,000. Now that we have your attention, contact the BATFE.

Lmao!

You guys are nuts! It's been in the river since the 70s. And in Arkansas, salvage laws says it's mine.

I can't post anything on here without having to call the ATF. Lol please.

I admire your conviction! But NFA'34 trumps state salvage law every time.

If you found an M2 .50cal in a river, it would still be a machine gun.

But post some pics if you have them.

I wonder if the "ST" prefix on the tax means "state property". I also wonder if this might be the leftovers of a college prank involving stealing the opposing team's ROTC/celebratory artillery? Also weird that the tires don't match.

I would get rid of it quickly and make sure it couldn't be traced back to me. Alternatively, you could just drop it off at the local PD & haul butt.
