Youngest getting better with 22
My boys and I took a friend to the range so his son could shoot for the first time. It was a great day everyone had fun and we went thru a lot of ammo.
My youngest just turned 7 and loves the Remington Speedmaster. I mounted the scope on friday and it makes it much easier for him to see the targets as you can see in the pic. He started with one shot to the body then moves to the head. He pretends they are zombies and has to "put them down" http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/q...7/IMAG0628.jpg http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/q...7/IMAG0627.jpg This was his favorite right on the center X http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/q...7/IMAG0630.jpg The rifle is a bit long and heavy at his age so we rest the end of it making it easier. http://i442.photobucket.com/albums/q...7/IMAG0625.jpg Great memories. Plan on going again tomorrow |
:D
What could be better? ...not much. |
Hell yeah!! Being a dad i LOVE to see this stuff!
A bit of advice...get the boy a "cricket"! ( ihave one for sale...if i dont sell it it will stay in the safe until i have G-babies to get started) Thats how I started my youngest. Hes now 12 and has growing into his great grandpa, grandpa, dads Win. model 61, and is becoming quite the crackshot with it. Just like his forefathers before him! ;) Shooting his "Cricket" like an expert for the last time... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/IMG_4565.jpg First time up w/his Great Grandpa, grandpas, dads Winchester Model 61... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/IMG_4608.jpg Getting "SERIOUS" about his marksmanship... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...marksman-1.jpg |
(I'm only allowed 4 pics per post...so heres more)
Birchwood Casey makes some splatter zombie targets. They are the coolest thing for starting the youngins! Cheesing with the 61.. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/IMG_5288.jpg The boy is ready for the Zombie apocalypse... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/IMG_5298.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...g/IMG_5301.jpg Gotta brag on my boys progress... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...s/IMG_5492.jpg |
Awesome photos. Thanks for sharing. I got the same zombie targets sitting in the gun safe. Nice quality targets. Your boy can shoot very well. Congrats.

We have been having a lot of fun. I am planning on getting a few of the zombie targets also just not found the locally yet.
I see your in Fort Wayne from the tag on the side is that right? Where do you shoot and what are you asking for the cricket? I am always looking for 22 rifles for the boys. |

I also have found its worth the time and fuel to head south to Bluffton and 21st century firearms. Great selection, decent prices and THEY have the zombie targets in stock! |
I have been in K&T they had my 7.62x54r ammo in stock.
I hear nothing but good things about 21st century but I have been there twice and not impressed. But I assume it is me as no one else has issues |
Few things better than hanging at the rang while the kids shoot.
