Instead of focusing so much on the big chain stores (Wal-Mart, Dicks, BassPro, etc) try some of your local mom and pop gun shops. That's the only place I can find anything ammo wise around my area. I bought some .22LR rounds the other day (Federal and CCL) and didn't give but $4 per box of 50. The local shops are staying busy with all of this panic buying going on, but they, at least, seem to be able to keep stuff in stock.

My local Big5 has tons of ammo. A little low on .223 but normal on all other calibers.

Local farm supply store is stocked fairly well with numerous caliber assortment, just the normal core lockt hunting .223 but they never carry bulk other than .22lr. Pretty much the only place I buy my ammo anymore.

well, the LGS's around me were wiped out like everyone else. strangely, i have only found 22lr in two places lately; a small local grocery store, and a shooting range. went by the range on a "well, maybe" type of thing, and they had plenty of 22 at reasonable prices.
now i finally have enough 22 to enjoy a lengthy trip at the range!! but 223?......forgetaboutit....

Stopped by BPS checking to see if they'd gotten any LR and overheard two gentlemen talking about how one of them had bought $600 worth of reloading primers,, the other asked him why did he need so much,, he says he didn't really need so many but it was all they had so felt he needed ti buy all of them.
now I don't reload so I'm not sure how many primers you can get for $600.? Probably more than he'll use. Now don't get me wrong I'm not bagging on the capitolism,, just saying it raises prices also,,, " supply vs. demand " in the end were just shooting ourselves in the foot.

For small rifle primers I've been paying $35-40 per 1,000, so that dude bought an ass load. I can understand keeping 4-5,000 on your shelf at home but $600 worth? Really?

If you are gonna use them that is fine, but you would have to spend some serious time at the reloading bench to load that many rounds.
