I frequent another forum and one of the guys there made a website that updates ammo availability every 90 seconds from several different websites. i have used it to purchase some 22lr and 9mm. Here is a link to the website:

i should buy myself a 38.....our local scheels probably has 2500 rounds of winchester white box 38 special. at a decent price too. otherwise the super common ammo (22lr, 9mm, .223) is completely gone.

i was at Runnings the other day & a guy asked the gun counter clerk when they were getting more 22 ammo. he shrugged his shoulders & said "when we get it. your guess is as good as mine." not very encouraging. well good thing i still have 1500 or so rounds at home

i too was suprised by the amount of 17hmr available. the way the gun companies promote that round, you'd swear it's the most popular rimfire out there.

You should ask yourself why WWB 38 is still there in huge quantities. Around here it is considered crap, and the least desirable ammo. A few weeks ago WW was sold out of all handgun ammo except WWB .40 S&W.

I don't mean to stoke the fires of hoarding, but this is a preview of our world when/if SHTF. I worked for Chrysler for many years, until our plant was axed in 2008, we had been running for years on "Just in Time" delivery/inventory mode.

Today, virtually every retailer, manufacturer etc. runs J.I.T. When avenues of distribution breakdown, product becomes unavailable quickly. If you do not have adequate supply, you will be left out in the lerch p.d.q.!

As for ammo, get what you can, when you can because it has a very long shelf life! Barring any disruption of avenues of distribution, resupply will continue, and eventually demand will be satisfied.

100 rounds of .223 I back ordered from cabelas the day after christmas just arrived at my door step yesterday.
And I ordered the 500 rounds of 556 thru Natchez even though the price is high I want to go to the damn range and shoot!

Walmart in Louisville on South Preston Hwy has Federal 9mm and. .22LR....get some!!!!

I think tonight my dad scored me aabout 10000 rounds of .22LR at a stellar price I'll know tomorrow
