Default where's the ammo?

Can't figure if its recent events or just the gift giving season that's caused all the .22lr to sell out everywhere here on the Va Peninsula. Like a dam shoebie I picked up a nice ruger 10/22 for my boy for christmas and didn't even buy ammo, forgetting he shot through 1000 rounds with his plinkster last time out,, dam now have to order somewhere online, anyone suggest a site with good deals or atleast in stock?

Good Luck! Yesterday picked up 4 boxes of 22LR 40 gr CCI. They had American 38 gr; but, decided to pass on them.

It is almost you blink and the ammo is gone! In 2008 it wasn't this bad!

A lot of it has to do with the holidays and gift giving season. Many people give 22 rifles as gifts and ammo to go along with it. Give it a month and the shelves will be restocked again and hopefully without a price increase.

Yeah, right. Good luck with that....

OP, try targetsportsusa.com. They seem well stocked with most everything, and free shipping on case quantities.......never mind, they're not accepting new orders until they catch up.

My question is when did 22lr get so expensive. Cheap stuff on Ammo to Go was $6 bucks for 50 rounds. I can load 50 rounds of 9x19mm with a quality Berry's plated bullet for $7/50. This is just crazy. Guess I've not kept up with the price of 22lr since I've not owned one in years.

I could have sworn that I saw some cheap 22LR online in the last week for under $3 a box. It may have been on the site I mentioned above.

Whats causing these shortages?

We are .
The hoarding behaviour of the shooting community is what drve up prices
There are probal yguys sitting on 100,000 rds who will never use it.

One ht eotehr hand in the last couple years there should be some private party deals out there for ammo.

The last 22lr I bought was some CCI Mini-Mags at Wally World for $4.95/100 round box. I could have swore that I saw Remington 500 round bricks at Wally World a few months ago for $19.95. When did this stuff start being made out of gold,LOL.
