What have the liberals done, next we'll see deer with 30-06's and bears with 50 BMG's. It's just not safe to hit the woods without serious back-up these days. I heard a family of 5 were missing from the local camp grounds, rumor has it they were taken by a gang of raccoons but the media is trying to keep it quiet.
I just sent the "Gangsta Squirrel" photo to some friends. I hope I can save some lives by spreading the word.

Well, Im not taking any...
Bets, but the .22mag has a longer history than the .17hmr & it is not the 1rst
.17 cal available to pelt hunters... It might go the way of the Marlin .444!

I have both and enjoy both of them. That said ifin I had to choose it would be the .22mag. A look at the ballistics shows the .22 mag right up there energy wise with a .38 special. MC

It looks like you just got your wish! CCI and Hornady have both just introduced their new 22WMR revolver loadings. CCI will bring out a 40gr Gold Dot round optimized for short barreled revolver use. And, Hornady will introduce it's new Critical Defense 45gr WMR loading. These offerings will feature less blast and flash along with greater penetration and expansion! What more could we ask for. Stay tuned

I really enjoy shooting 22 mags in rifle and pistol but trying to make it a self defense round is a bit of a stretch. I know someone brought up the fact that a 22mag has more energy then a 38 but there is no way I would pick a 22 over a 38 for self defense.

The words Critical Defense and rimfire just don't go together. Maybe Hornady and Speer are envisioning an uprising of the squirrel population.
The 22-Mag is a good rimfire round, but I can't see depending on it to defend my life or the lives of others. These new loads should be nice for short barreled rifles and small game pistols though.

i don't know about "other" 22 mags, but my marlin 925 isn't going anywhere............as long as i can keep buying ammo for it, it'll ALWAYS have a place in my house.
