The rifle (Rossi remake of Winchester 62) is ugly and worn and of no use to me; it was not a well-thought-out purchase. I realized that i don't shoot at squirrels that far away, especially with iron sights. I think the ammo is CCI. I'm gonna keep the sale local, but thanks. If nobody at the show wants it, i may just give it to somebody with a kid as a disposable teaching aid.
I think my Marlin model 60 is about all the .22 i really need. __________________ Dead Bears, the only good kind.

Own both- .177 HMR and .22 WMR. If I want to take a squirrel or crow in the 75 to 100 yard range, I'm going to do it with the .22 WMR. It may take a little more effort and marksmanship on my part to hit the critter for a clean kill with the .22 WMR, it does a better job. I primarily use my .177 HMR at the range to punch holes in paper at 100 yards- I'm lazy at time and it takes a little less effort to hit the target at 100 yards with the .177.
The .22 WMR has been around a little over 50 years and suspect it won't go the way of the 5mm Remington Mag. Besides, the .22 WMR is a lot more useful than a lot of shooters think. |

| 22 Mag
My 22 Mag inventory is down to a pair of derringers. I'll try to get to the range and test the range & penetration of snake shot. I've been using it in the top barrel for years w a 40 gr HP on the bottom. This was my hiking & fishing load.
22 Mag has one hell of a history with derringers and a surprising amt of them lethal. |

Years ago I saw a guy drop an 800 pound steer with a between the eyes shot with a .22 mag rifle, pretty impressive. |
