I've got to say that my .22 is my favourite firearm. Period. And that's not likely to change until such time as I get a pistol, to tell the truth (whereupon my .22 will become my "favourite longarm").

It's my primary survival firearm (if I'm ever forced to hunt for my family's dinner, I'm more likely to encounter small game than goat or deer etc), it's light, reliable, accurate, cheap to feed, exquisitely made and I've almost got it completely set up the way I want it (just got to mount a tactical light on it for spotlighting game at night).

Just a "few"...

And that little badboy would be highly restricted in New Zealand, requiring a special licence, just because "it looks scary".

Why does it "look scary"? Why, because it's a semiauto with a pistol grip, of course. And maybe someone might think that the mag "looks like" it holds more than 7 rounds of centrefire.

The Mag is strictly cosmetic this gun is Jersey legal we are alowed to own these guns as long as the stock is pinned ( not adjustable) the magazine doesnt hold more then 15 rounds theres no bayonet lug or flash suppressor the mag is a 10 round .22LR that fits inside the fake shell. This gun looks nothing like it did the day I pulled it out of the box.

Our restrictions on semiautos (unless you want to fork out the dough and jump through hoops for a "Category E" endorsment on your licence) are no bayonet lug, no flash suppressor, no free-standing military style pistol grip and magazine must not hold, nor look like it holds, more than 7 rounds centrefire or 15 rounds .22lr. The "look like" is a problem - it puts you at the whim of any dork with no knowledge of firearms.

On the other hand, we have no restrictions on sound suppressors/moderators, so that's a blessing.

I wish suppressors were legal here I get around that by using CCI sub sonics 710 FPS all you here is the snap of the primer of corse the trade off is they start dropping pretty fast after 30 yards but ther deadly on small game inside that distance

I'm a bit hung up on my 10/22

And my 8 year old dropping 10 touching shots in line at 50 yards with Federal match ammo.

Yeah, I've got one, they are a lot of fun for family shooting competitions, too.
