Default What the heck..

With .22 lr being high priced and .22 mag more avilable, plus the new Marlins looking like crap...............I've been kinda looking for an older walnut tube feed .22 mag bolt rig (883), for a lighter cheaper fox/yote rig.

Been looking kinda half serious for the last 2 yrs and boom, got one yesterday. Used, minor stock rub..........happened to get some old Outers Gunlsick finish.............should make it like new in short order.

Crap, now I gotta find a good scope.

* kicks self in butt for selling 3-9X compact EFR a few yrs back.

The triggers on them kinda suck, aint gonna go aftermarket. Worst case the kid will get it for her BD.

883 triggers are pretty cheap and easy to work on.

I've done 'em, but hate the overtravel due to the design for bolt removal.
Need to fab a removable overtravel stop.
Got a couple of ideas

I love my Marlin. Paid $100 for the rifle and $10 for a vintage Japanese scope. It's a tack driver.

better judged by twelve than carried by six.

.22 mag comes and goes 'round here.
I have enough for yrs of hunting.

Proly trade off the 883 this week, decent rig, just doesn't feel right to me.

Might get a bbl for my Contender carbine eventually.
