The absolute worst rimfire rifles are the Remington 5teen series and the Old mossberg rifles. The top slot is held by the Win mod 52. All these rifles are junk and worthless. If you have one then you shoul sell it to me for a really low low price.

I have a Walther P22 and had trouble when I first used it but lately it has been working pretty good, when I use CCI mini-mags it works perfect but when I use cheap bulk stuff it may have a FTF but the more I shoot it the better it works.

Default .22 rifle

I have a .22 Savage rifle, bought from Wal-Mart for $105 and it does pretty good. The week after I bought it, I shot a sqirrell in the face from about 75 yards, iron sights. Not bad for $105. I shoots pretty consistant with Federal 36 grain, hollow points.

The only .22 I ever had (and still do) that jammed often was a Mossberg 352K Semi-auto clip fed with cool looking black Zytel fold down front grip. It will shoot fine with certain ammo (Remmington Hi-Velocity)
My Marlin 70P (Papoose) takedown is a tack driver that never jams and it is the same action as alomost all of Marlins' .22's including the Mod.60
My Henry lever .22 is the most accurate and most fun of them all.
Ruger22/45 MkII never jams and is exceptionally accurate - the only gripe I have with it is the front sight blade is too wide for any decent target shooting.

Agree with Tango's post on old Mossbergs. Yeah, they are truly horrible ( ) If you have one, send it to me. I'll even pay the postage- and put it away with the dozen I have. You really would not like them- trust me. No, really

Default first gun

stay on target he asked about first gun and not a pistol.besides all those pistol
co are out of business driven there by law suits.ravens were caried by cops as backup.I have shot all of them and they worked for what they were built for.not to be fired by the thousands rounds.
He wants a single shot rifle.

Default 10-22 ruger

This is my tack driver for tree rats. 3x9 scope and a teck stock and a flash break on the std barrel. Never misses a lick and is a head shooter for saving meat. Have a great time shooting this 22.

Gummed up?? What oil are you using and how are you storing it?? And please tell me that you didn't use Minwax products on a gunstock...the fumes from their oil-based stuff alone is enough to chock a rifle kept in a safe...not to mention everything else in the safe...
