Jim- first off, welcome to the forums. Good folks here- when you get a minute, stop by the intro section, and say howdy.

Now, to your rifle- tube fed, heavy stocked .22 target rifle? Believe you have a Mossberg Model 42A. Very good target rifle. Problem is, THAT rifle was made in 1937-1938. None of my usual suspects lists a bolt as available.

IF you can find one- most are not just a "drop in" part- they need to be checked by a smith for headspace. Bad headspace VERY bad ju-ju- dangerous.

Would suggest you email Victor Havlin at havlinsales.com. Vic, together with his wife Cheryl, run the Mossberg Collectors Association, sell stuff for Mossbergs, and are very nice folks. Possible that Vic MAY have a bolt that will fit.

OTOH, if your rifle does not come close to being a tube mag target rifle, say something- the cross reference lists are not always accurate. Westernfield was the store brand for Montgomery Wards- several companies built guns that were marked with the Westernfield trademark. Same for Sears, Western Auto, etc.

This rifle is not a tube feed. It has a magazine.

Whoops! My bad! That should have been box mag, not tube. Does yours look like this one?

That is a Mossberg 42A, from 1937.

If that looks like yours, email Vic at havlinsales.com. If finding a bolt is not possible, your's still has a fair value as a parts gun. You would not imagine what the sights and original sling swivels for Mossys from the 30s/40s/50s sell for.
