Hmmm- single shot 22 bolt action? Swivel type safety to the rear of the bolt? THINK you may have a Mossberg Mdl 26B. Go to this site, scroll down to the Mossberg 26B, click on picture to enlarge, see if that is yours. Mossberg 22 LR Models and Specifications

Made 1938-1941.

Steve- welcome to the forum- when you get a minute, stop by the intro section and say hello.

Your rifle SHOULD be a Mossberg Model 26B, made for Montgomery Wards stores, and marked with their house trademark (Westernfield) These were made from 1938-1941. Very good little target rifles. SHOULD look something like this-

Name: mossberg 26b.jpg
Views: 119
Size: 23.8 KB

If yours does not look anything like that, PLEASE get a picture up here.
